Q + A

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

The ceremony and the reception will both be located at The Barn Event Center of the Smokies located at 7264 E Lamar Alexander Pkwy, Townsend, TN 37882. The ceremony will be held outdoors (will be moved inside if the weather does not cooperate) and the reception will be held inside. We will have a room located beneath the reception hall dedicated to the kids where we will have arts and craft tables set up.

Are kids welcome?

YES! We want all of our loved ones and their minis with us on our special day. We will be serving chicken fingers with macaroni and cheese for the little ones in addition to mocktails for them to enjoy and toast with. There will be a designated space downstairs that will be set up with arts and crafts to keep antsy little ones busy and entertained.

What should I wear?

Semi-formal. We want you to be comfortable! Please, feel free to wear jeans and a dress shirt with your boots. Keep in mind, it will be cooler temps in the mountains this time of the year so please bring a light jacket and dress accordingly.

What time should I arrive?

We recommend that you arrive 30-45 minutes before the start of the ceremony to ensure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

Can I bring a date?

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding.

When is the RSVP deadline?

The RSVP deadline is July 1, 2024.

I am coming from out of town. Is there a hotel you can recommend?

If you want a lodge experience, the Dancing Bear Lodge Townsend is a great start! It is about 10 minutes from where the wedding will be held. If you would like a more budget-friendly option, the Townsend River Breeze Inn is a great option and is only a 5-minute drive from our venue. Of course, Airbnb is always an option to rent a cabin for a full mountain experience.

Where are you registered?

Most of our guests are coming from out of town. We do not expect material gifts as we know the cost of traveling. You being there to celebrate with us is everything we need. If you are unable to attend and still wish to send a gift, please, go under the Registry tab of our website and consider making a donation to our Honeymoon Fund!

What should I do if I can’t make it?

We will be mad at you and never speak to you again. Kidding!! You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

What happens after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, the bride and groom will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. During this time, guests can head straight to the reception hall where we will be serving finger foods and beverages prior to dinner starting.

I am planning to stay in the area for a couple days, what can I experience near Townsend?

Tuckaleechee Caverns, Davy Crockett Riding Stables, Cades Cove, The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Visit Gatlinburg!
